Zilveren miniatuur scharenslijper, A. van Geffen, Amsterdam, 1746 Firenze The master mark almost resembles18th century silver miniature scissors grinder made by the silversmith Arnoldus van Geffen from Amsterdam. He was active from 1728 to 1769. The miniature is hallmarked with the Amsterdam city mark, the year letter M for 1746, and the maker's mark "hoorn" (horn). It also bears the "bijltje" (axe) hallmark. This is a small masterpiece, as the stone can actually turn when the pedal is moved. The miniature is in excellent condition. Weight: 41. 5 grams.
