Johnson that depict scenes from the Third Anglo Ashanti War that was fought between the British Empire and the Ashanti Empire in 1873 1874 for control of the Gold Coast, (now Ghana), Africa during the Victorian era. Some of the scenes include; a Fanti weaver at his loom, a common street scene, Fanti women performing a "fetish" dance
